Senior Financial Accountant

At the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, we are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team.

About the Job

The Senior Financial Accountant supports the effective management of the organization’s financial operations by ensuring accurate and timely accounting records, maintaining the integrity of financial data, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and policies, and preparing financial reports, while also contributing to financial planning processes and the continuous improvement of financial procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure the integrity of financial transactions.

  • Execute monthly and annual financial closing activities in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Prepare periodic financial and management reports.

  • Monitor financial advances, settlements, electronic payments, and outstanding balances.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies.

  • Support grant financial management and monitor expenditures against approved budgets.

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.

  • Maintain fixed asset records and support asset tracking processes.

  • Coordinate with auditors and support internal control processes.

  • Contribute to improving financial procedures and enhancing operational efficiency.

  • Maintain proper financial documentation and ensure confidentiality of information.

  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the role.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with 5–7 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • Hands-on experience with computerized accounting systems (ERP systems).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Power BI reporting tools.

  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to design financial presentations.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure.
